This Kimono-style womens cardigan is knitted in a textural moss stitch using Shetland-character wool which is spun in Aberdeenshire. A vintage inspired fair isle design is used around the hem and cuffs. The cardigan has a wide, unfitted shape which looks great with casual trousers or jeans. Putty is a soft sand colour with fair isle in blues and brown.

Designers Notes
Having been interested in vintage fashion for many years, I am a fan of Paul Poiret (1879-1944) - a leading French fashion designer in the early part of the 20th century. He is thought to be instrumental in the emergence of modern fashion due to the loose fitting garments he designed for women, moving away from the corseted figure. The "kimono coat" was seen as a controversial shape at the time along with his hobble skirt and harem pants. What became the "flapper coat" was often embellished around the sleeves and hem with oriental or exotic designs. I thought it would be fun to create my own version of this using fair isle and so my Kimono fair isle cardigan came to life.
