The Croft House - Sustainable Scottish Knitwear

The Croft House proudly make our collection of knitwear for women and men in Scotland, using only natural, sustainable wool and cashmere spun in British mills. It's been that way since we started in 2012. We specialise in a range of beautiful fair isle knitwear for women and offer stunning fair isle knitwear for men which is sustainably made to last!

Our Women's knitwear is made in Scotland using natural, British spun yarns. Choose our exclusive fair isle jumpers and cardigans when you are looking for something that little bit different, our gansey knitting plain garments or cosy up in chunky knits for relaxed style.

Our History

The Croft House has been a collection of high quality Scottish knitwear and accessories since Autumn 2012. The closure of a 250 year old local weaving mill inspired us to produce a knitwear range in Scotland using sustainable, Scottish spun wool, much of which is produced only 10 miles from our home. It's important for us to keep these traditions and skills alive.

Wool is the natural, renewable and biodegradable choice for clothing. It's breathability, natural insulating properties and elasticity make it multi-climatic and a great trans-seasonal fibre.

Designed and made in Scotland

The range is designed from a base in rural Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland. Inspiration comes from the Scottish landscape and heritage patterns, particularly the fair isle technique. Look out for "designers notes" on the product pages to see what has inspired the pattern or colours of each piece.

Our knitwear is made in Scotland using luxurious, natural yarns which we source from British woollen mills. All our cashmere is milled in Scotland and our wool is spun in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK.
