The magical pink fairy-tale castle of Craigievar in Aberdeenshire is an iconic Scottish landmark. Said to be the inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle, it's Scot's baronial interiors were the inspiration for the patterns on this v-neck fair isle cardigan. The Great Hall has bold tartan (plaid) rugs and fabrics and a richly molded plaster ceiling. Craigievar Castle is open to visitors during the Spring and Summer months and is one of many castles owned by The National Trust for Scotland in Aberdeenshire. It will be closed for the whole of 2023 for restoration work, reopening in Spring 2024.
