What our customers think

Designers notes - the inspiration behind Braemar pattern

I wanted to produce a relaxed Shetland-wool jumper which was not too busy but still had interest. I chose a 2-tone colour palette and thought this would work well with a bold Art Deco design, one of my favourite styles. As we are now in the 20's, this form of decorative style is unbelievably 100 years old, being championed at the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels moderne in Paris in 1925. The geometric design was inspired by the Grampian mountains and River Dee of Royal Deeside in the Scottish Highlands.
